The dramatic drop in oil prices last week did not equate to a dramatic drop for the price of gas. However, gas prices did fall, slightly.
Monday, AAA said the average price of gas in North Carolina was $4.01. That's a few pennies off the peak price on Thursday, of $4.05.
The trend is the same nationwide. AAA says the current average is $4.08, after hitting $4.11 on Thursday.
The drop in oil prices may not last. Oil prices rose Monday in Asia on concerns that the threat of new sanctions against Iran over its nuclear program may escalate tensions in the oil-rich Gulf region.
