Man Shot Outside Waffle House

Greenville Police have arrested a man for a shooting outside the Waffle House at 820 S. Memorial Dr. in Greenville. Police credit the quick arrest to the fact that officers were stationed across the street when the shooting happened.

Police have charged 28-year-old Brian Tyrone Martin of Youngsville, N.C. with assault with a deadly weapon and other charges. Martin has a criminal record already, investigators say.

Police say Martin shot Christopher Cherry in the leg around 3:25 a.m. Sunday outside the restaurant in Greenville. Cherry was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital. Police say they have not determined a motive in the shooting.
