Rain Barrels--An Answer During The Drought?

The North Carolina Department of Crime Control and Public Safety is recommending people set up water barrels to save water during the drought.

"A quarter inch of rain will fill a rain barrel to the brim. That water can be used to water lawns and gardens, fill bird baths, flush toilets, and many other water-saving ideas," a press release said.
Officials say you can buy rain barrels at most lawn and garden stores, for between $27 and $120.
