14-Year-Old Boy Wrecks Car In Beaufort County

A 14-year-old boy in Chocowinity crashed a Pontiac Tuesday night on Sams Road in the Elks Mobile Home park while joyriding, according to deputies.

Officials said he was taken to Vidant Beaufort Hospital for a leg injury. They said the crash knocked out cable service to some people in the area.

Major Ken Watson with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office said this began as a joyride for the 14 year old. The boy's name has not been released.
