Over The River, Through The Woods

More North Carolinians will be traveling for Christmas than they did for Thanksgiving. That's according to the latest figures from AAA Carolinas.

1.64 million North Carolinians are expected to drive 50 miles or more to their Christmas destination. AAA says gas prices are expected to stay put through New Year's Day. The average price of a gallon of gas in North Carolina on Friday morning was $2.95 a gallon for regular unleaded, according to AAA.

Major road construction problems will shut down at 4 p.m. Friday through New Year's Day. Work zone speed limits still apply.
