Turkey Farmers Grateful For Bird Demand This Thanksgiving

There's less then a week until Thanksgiving and turkey farmers say they've already sent the holiday birds out, and they are grateful for a good year.

A Duplin County farmer says he sent his turkeys out 7 weeks ago. Other farmers we spoke with in the county say their turkey houses are empty after sending out birds for the holiday. We're told it's a good year for turkeys, although many crop farmers were hit hard by heat and storms, a turkey farmer tells us he was fortunate his turkeys stayed healthy.

I won't lie; I bought two on sale. I have already baked one, and it was delicious with stuffing, made into a Turkey salad, and sliced on sandwiches. I always do some pre-holiday cooking to take the edge off the anticipation for my family.
