Resolve To Be Ready

As the New Year approaches, the Ready Campaign is reminding Americans to Resolve to be Ready in 2012.

The Ready Campaign would like to make an emergency preparedness resolution easy to keep by providing the tools and resources needed to take four important steps: be informed about the different types of emergencies that can happen in your area and their appropriate responses, make a family communications plan, build an emergency kit, and get involved in community preparedness.

In eastern Carolina, there were a number of natural disasters that put residents to the test. The deadly tornadoes back in April, left survivors homeless and then rebuilding and the flooding rains and heavy winds from hurricane Irene back in August delivered a second punch to residents.
