RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) -- A 43-year-old Raleigh police officer is charged with drunken driving.
Police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan confirms that Sgt. Greg Palczak was charged Monday with driving while impaired.
Wake County Chief Magistrate Dexter Williams says Palczak's blood-alcohol level registered 0.14 percent during a Breathalyzer test. The legal threshold is 0.08.
Records show he was stopped about 8:15 p.m. Monday by a fellow officer.
Hourigan says Palczak is a 14-year veteran of the Raleigh Police Department.
His first court appearance on the charge is set for Jan. 19.
