Police say a 50-year-old Wake County public schools bus driver has been charged of having inappropriate conversations with an 11-year-old girl.
Authorities say Aubrey Lee Stephens of Apex was charged Wednesday with one felony count of indecent liberties with a child.
Police say the conversations happened in April 2010. Authorities did not give details of the conversations but said Stephens never touched the girl, who is now 12 years old.
Authorities say they learned about the chats after the girl's parent called the school.
District officials say Stephens had been a school bus driver in Wake County for more than 25 years before resigning last month.
Stephens was released on bond Wednesday and ordered not to have contact with children.
