Perdue Visits PA To Explore Gas Exploration Method

A spokesman for North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue says her one-day trip to Pennsylvania to examine a natural gas exploration method wasn't publicized because she was only gathering information and held no public events.

Perdue, state environment Secretary Dee Freeman and others traveled March 5 to north-central Pennsylvania to visit Shell Oil operations in the region where a process called hydraulic fracturing occurs to extract natural gas from shale.

Perdue spokesman Mark Johnson said Tuesday the delegation also met with regulators and local officials.

Freeman's department is expected soon to release a report the Legislature mandated to examine the procedure known as "fracking" and recommend what steps the state should now take.

I know the lady is still governor, but can she please just stay home and watch ophray and put the state on cruise control until the next person starts the job. She has done about all she needs to do for this state, we can not stand anymore. Instead of Fracking for gas, lower the darn gas tax for the taxpayers, duh.

One of the highest gas tax rate in the entire nation. Somehow I think an extremely high tax on transportation will bring more jobs and a better economy to our state ... /sarcasm

VACATION TRIP (or JOB HUNTING). Why did she go and spend taxpayers money when she is definitely leaving office and the next govenor will have to make the same trip at taxpayers expense?

Why doesnt she try to do something to help regular gas prices? Natural gas is plentiful enough. There are plenty of better ways she could spend her time.

she probably thought that fracking was something else. What she has been doing to the taxpayers.

This woman has LOST HER MIND!!! Nothing but problems are associated with the extraction of natural gas (aka fracking). I guess you could say it is similar to the time Purdon't has served in office...nothing but a worthless problem that WE DON'T WANT and only makes greedy rich politicians and big gas owners even richer while the residents are the ones affected by the problems associated with it!!!

I support onshore and offshore drilling for oil and gas and fracking as much as we can, so we can be less dependent on the ARABS and South Americans for our oil. It's there. Nobama does not want to OK any exploration. He should do both oil exploration and production and green energy.

You dont know frack about gas production. Fracking isn't used except in extreme cases. It has also been used for at least 60 years. There are several types of fracking. Mostly fracking is used for oil not gas. You also dont know what the term means.

Did not want the people to know how she is wasting our money. Secrets, secrets, never come to any good when it involves a politician.
