Parking Prices Taking Off At RDU

If you fly out of Raleigh-Durham International Airport often, or ever, you should know that it will soon cost more to park there.

The most convenient parking lots, the daily lots, will cost $12.00 a day, instead of $10.00, on Monday. RDU says the increase is to help pay for the cost of the new "Terminal 2" at the airport.

If you want to save some money, the remote lots still cost $6.00 a day, but you need to give yourself extra time if you use those lots.

Another potential cost-saving tip, if you can find a comparably priced ticket at one of the regional airports in the east, parking is often a fraction of the cost compared to RDU. For instance, a day of parking at Pitt-Greenville Airport costs $7.00.

It might be cheaper to park at Pitt/Greenville Airport, but you have to fly to Charlotte. No direct flights to other destinations. More wait time and usually flights are delayed from the Charlotte Airport. No thanks.. the extra cost is worth it in my mind for the convenience of a direct flight. I always use the remote lots anyway.
