NC Student Shot At School Is Enrolled Again

Officials say the student wounded last year in a shooting at a Fayetteville High School is enrolled again but not yet attending classes on campus.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that the principal Lee Spruill of Cape Fear High School wouldn't provide details of how Catilyn Abercrombie is taking classes other than to say she's enrolled.

Abercrombie was shot in the neck with a .22-caliber bullet, which lodged near her vertebrae. Cumberland County sheriff's deputies have said they don't think she was the intended target of the October shooting. They haven't released a motive.

Two Cape Fear students are charged in the shooting

Spruill said Abercrombie had a successful surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham just before Christmas and is doing much better.
