An organization that honors aging World War II veterans from North Carolina with free flights to the nation's capital is holding a reunion.
The Star-News of Wilmington reports that Honor Flights is extending an invitation to former troops and sailors to meet Tuesday.
The reunion in Wilmington offers an opportunity for the men to reminisce about their service and their trips to visit the memorial in their honor in Washington, D.C.
The group has sponsored trips for nearly 420 World War II veterans living in Southeast North Carolina.
About 6,000 World War II veterans live in the region.
