NC Attorneys Ask For Lawsuit By Pro Choice Advocates To Be Thrown Out

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- North Carolina state attorneys have asked a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit filed by doctors and other abortion-rights advocates who have already persuaded the court to block enforcement of a portion of new abortion restrictions.

The state Attorney General's Office formally responded Wednesday to the lawsuit filed in September seeking to have portions of the new law overturned that would require new procedures for women receiving abortions as an unconstitutional attack on free speech rights.

Two weeks ago, Judge Catherine Eagles blocked for now a provision that would place new ultrasound requirements upon medical professionals when seeing pregnant women seeking an abortion.

The abortion-rights supporters also filed a motion Thursday asking Eagles to adjust her preliminary injunction for a portion of the law about who must provide information to a woman 24 hours before an abortion.

This is the wrong debate. It's not about whether abortion should be legal or not. The real debate should revolve around whether it should be mandatory for some individuals. This debate is still a bit premature for our society, but one day (some time in the not-so-distant future) that is the debate our culture will be having. It will be a necessity, whether we like it or not.

I beleive that the law of this country is innocent until proven guilty. Abortion clearly violates that. By what 'reasoning' can you arrive at such a foolish conclusion, don't bother to answer that. Its only by Gods grace that any of us are born and live. That any man or woman thinks that they have the right to kill an unborn child who has not even had a chance to live life is yet another display of how degenerate this country is becoming. No better than the nazis, probably worse.

Abortions prevent crimes like murder,rape,etc... Be grateful for abortions, they have helped the violent crime rate go down since the Roe vs. Wade ruling! (Would be)Murderers are aborted too!

Take your pick, death row or abortion clinics? Which is cheaper? Usually when someone is on death row, it means they've killed someone else....
