NAACP Releases Statement About Governor Beverly Perdue

The NAACP has released a statement about Governor Beverly Perdue's decision to not seek reelection.

The statement:

"Gov. Beverly Perdue is a stalwart friend of justice. With her strong voice and her steady veto-pen, she has stood on the side of justice against the frontal assault against minorities' rights by the ultra conservatives in the General Assembly. She has taken seriously her oath to uphold the Constitution, which requires those in government to govern for the good of the whole, to protect and strengthen public education, to create economic vitality, to protect civil rights, to ensure equal protection and racial justice under the law.

Gov. Perdue has remained true to her love of all our children and their fullest development. When she had to choose between what was good for North Carolina children and all of its citizens, and what was good for her own career, she took the road of principle. This is how history will record of the legacy of the first of many women governors we will have. The civil rights community prays she will remain strong in the remaining days in office, and that she will continue to fight for the good of the whole . . .for the good of all North Carolinians."

Lavon, I have absolutely NO respect for the NACCP. NONE, or to all those associated with this racist group, including yourself. Got it? Told you before, this world is not your grandparents world, things have changed. It's not 1909 anymore.

As I read your comments, I have to say that your racism and bogotry is blatant and characteristic of you. You are a shining example of why intelligenr people call you and the racist organizations you sponsor racist. You remind me of the white people in the 20's that were joining the klan by the millions and saying they were not racist. No one believed them either, except the people that thought like them. Satan, also, points his finger at others and calls them evil.

And here you have it, straight from Latrine's own attitude in his comment. The NAACP is used to keep people (and we know which people don't we) "in check." Nothing about helping black people improve themselves, no it is about getting even with certain races (and we know which races, don't we.) Nothing is Latrine's diatribe about blacks helping blacks in their own community to stop crime, improve neighborhoods, no it is about calling other people (and we know which people.) rednecks and backwoods racists. From reading Latrine's comments, he looks to be as bad of a racist as anyone else.

The NAACP got started because of racist white folks. The NAACP was founded on the basis to protects the civil rights of minorities because by listening to you backwoods racists up here, that's why the NAACP will never go away. If you don't like then GET OUT!! of our country! Anything outside of that there's nothing and I mean absolutely NOTHING! your going to do about it

Do you honestly believe that the NAACP was started only by blacks? It was started by BOTH whites and blacks to address the injustices of minorities. Even on their homepage it discusses who started it and if they were white or black.

Lavon, you prove your bias with all your rants on this thread. Colored people don't even want to be called colored anymore... but you still support this joke of an association. The leaders are only in it for the money. Wise up.

These comments up here is the very reason why the NAACP exist. Aww whats the matter are you rednecks still mad because you have a black President? You ain't mad yet, just wait until November when he beats the heck out of you again. Then you are going to be mad

The NAACP is legalized racism. You never hear a peep from them when a white person is a victim of a crime that a black person committed. You never hear a peep from them when white people are discrimated against. You never hear a peep from them when young black males are killing each other. If the NAACP wants to really make a difference in the world, stand up for what is right and condemn the acts of these young people. All Rev. Barber is good for is stirring the pot. I have numerous black friends and I have heard several of them say that Rev. Barber is an embarrassment to the black community. The NAACP would be a better organization if they were to get rid of him....
