Moore County Officer Killed In The Line Of Duty

A North Carolina law enforcement officer was killed in the line of duty Thursday after trying to take a suspect into custody for child support payments.

Moore county officials say 58-year-old Sheriff's Deputy Rick Rhyne responded to a trespassing call and found two men inside a home. According to authorities, one of the men, Martin Poynter, had an outstanding warrant for child support. As Rhyne tried to arrest him, Poynter shot the deputy and then took his own life.

Deputy Rhyne had over 37 years with the law enforcement. He is also the first Moore county deputy ever to be killed in the line of duty.

You can't be a 'deadbeat' if you can't can be a 'deadbeat' if you can pay but willfully don't.......either of those is preferable than to be a 'life stealing liar' according to an attorney. Life Stealing Liars are the lowest of the lowest of parents.

Earlier, the report stated the suspect was an "Iraq War Veteran". I guess they want to downplay that fact now. Not that I'm saying he deserves respect (killed a deputy & himself plus he was a deadbeat dad) but that's a major difference in the report.
