Republican Pat McCrory and Democrat Walter Dalton have agreed to square off in two gubernatorial debates.
The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters announced Thursday the two debates will be broadcast live across the state on television and radio outlets, including WITN.
The debates are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on October 3 and October 16. They will be produced in the UNC-TV studios in Research Triangle Park.
"North Carolina broadcasters are pleased to provide this opportunity to the people of North Carolina to see and hear these candidates share their views on the compelling issues confronting North Carolina," said Dick Harlow, the Association's president.
The debate format will include the candidates, a moderator and three broadcast journalists "presenting the issues to the candidates."
