Irene Floods More Than 18,000 Structures In NC

North Carolina Emergency Management says Hurricane Irene flooded 18,011 buildings, including homes, with one to five feet of water.

NCEM says when all is said and done Irene will generate nearly 1,418,610 tons of debris.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has 433 staffers in NC with 80 more pending and 150 from other federal agencies deployed.

NCEM also says with the exception to Duck and Hatteras, re-entry to Dare County for visitors and the public will begin at noon Monday.

Put the to work! Make then earn it! Hopefully the only visitors will be those down to help clean up. But that would be too much to ask of people wouldnt it.
