Health Department: Most E-Coli Victims Went To State Fair

The Wake County Health Department says an outbreak of E-Coli has infected nine people and most of them have something in common.

Eight of the nine people with the potentially deadly bacteria attended the NC State Fair, but it's not clear if they contracted E-Coli there.

Three children are in intensive care units with the potentially deadly type of food poisoning.

The Wake County Health Department says seven children and two adults have been infected with E.-Coli bacteria. The community health director said the cause of their illness is not yet known and visiting the fair was just one shared characteristic.

My sister said a teacher at Combs School had eaten a CORNDOG at the fair and was sick for three days. So was a 2 year old child. She ate one too. They did not go to the petting zoos.

My momma always warned me about fair food. Now I know why. Still eat it though. It's a gamble I'm prepared to take.

My family went to the fair Saturday and my husband and myself were sick for three days. Vomiting, upset stomach, cramping, fever and chills. Even through things have slowed down we still do not feel up to par.

Until the cause is determined this fair needs to cease and desist this unhealthy enterprise. For many years running this event has been a danger to the population of this great state. How many people have to die before the plug is pulled?
