Gingrich Names State's Leadership Team

A former chairman of the state Republican Party will lead Newt Gingrich's leadership team in North Carolina as he seeks the GOP presidential nomination.

Gingrich said Wednesday that Tom Fetzer will serve as chairman of the team. Fetzer also is a former mayor of Raleigh.

Raleigh attorney and former city council member Kiernan Shanahan will be the finance chairman. Shanahan also is former federal prosecutor.

Political consultant Karen Rotterman will head Gingrich's political and fundraising operation in North Carolina. Rotterman was news secretary for former Gov. Jim Martin.

Remember when Jim Martin, Fetzer, and that crowd in Raleigh wanted the sell Pullen Park to real estate developers, so the one-percenters could build nice homes on the water and keep the commoners out? Ahhh, good times. I think I'll go look at Liz Taylor's jewelry, that I just bought for $100 million. Merry Christmas, and keep voting Republican, suckers!
