Gas Prices Inching Closer To $3.00 A Gallon In ENC

You've probably noticed if you've been to the pumps recently that gas prices are dropping here in the east, closing in on $3.00 a gallon.

It's coming at a pretty convenient time, with Thanksgiving just two weeks away, one of the heaviest travel times of the year.

Prices in Greenville are between $3.06 and $3.09 per gallon, depending on where you go and what side of town.

Prices are down to $3.05 at some gas stations in Washington.

Elijah Baker likes the sound of that, he's heading to Raleigh in two weeks for the holidays. Baker says, "When it's high you can't do too much traveling, you just go home and work, home and work. Now that they're low, I can enjoy it a little bit more, I can do more things, I can have some leisure time."

The cheapest gas prices in our state according to are in Fayetteville, at exactly $3.00 A gallon.

Experts do predict we'll see prices here below $3.00 a gallon by the end of the year.
