UPDATE: Fort Bragg Airman Killed While Training Identified

Officials at Fort Bragg have identified the airman who died after he was run over by a government vehicle during an Air Force training exercise.

A news release from the post says 20-year-old Senior Airman Timothy J. Wright of Pensacola, Florida, was hit by the vehicle on Wednesday about 10:45 a.m.

The statement from the post says several unit members who witnessed the accident attempted life-saving measures until emergency personnel arrived. Wright was taken to Womack Army Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11 a.m.

The incident is under investigation.

In June, a Fort Bragg paratrooper from New York was killed during a training accident. An 82nd Airborne soldier from Washington state was killed during artillery live-fire training in February.
