A former Mecklenburg County 911 dispatcher is accused by authorities in Gaston County of possessing and distributing child pornography.
Police say 44-year-old Christopher Mauldin of Dallas is charged with multiple counts of felony sexual exploitation of a minor.
An investigation began in November after the State Bureau of Investigation and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip. Officials say investigators then tracked Mauldin's movements on the Internet for about four months.
Police said Mauldin uploaded pictures through his Twitter account, and he directed police to more pornography on his computer.
Mauldin, who was arrested in March, worked in Mecklenburg County as a 911 dispatcher for MEDIC. He is being held in the Gaston County jail under a $250,000. It's not known if he has an attorney.
