The first toll road in our state opened Thursday. The Triangle Parkway connects NC-540 to the Durham Freeway and Research Triangle Park.
You'll be able to drive the road for free until January 3rd. Then it will cost about 15 cents a mile with an EZ Pass transponder. It will cost 21cents a mile without one. A toll-booth will take a picture of your license plate, and mail you the bill.
The Triangle Parkway is a 3.5-mile section of the Triangle Expressway.
