Fake Bev Perdue Twitter Account Tricks Huffington Post

A fake Twitter account set up to look like it belonged to Governor Bev Perdue duped the online news agency The Huffington Post.

The fake account tweeted, "Called the Mississippi governor today and apologized for my remarks. Offered to send him some Bojangles Bo-Berry Biscuits to make amends."

The Huffington Post used this tweet to report that Perdue had apologized to the governor of Mississippi for remarks made to WITN's Brittany Gunter last week that North Carolina's passage of Amendment One made our state "look like Mississippi."

Governor Perdue really did talk to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, but she did not apologize for her comment.
