Building Permits Issued For Apple Inc. In NC

More permits are being issued for Apple Inc., which has a data center in the North Carolina town of Maiden.

The Hickory Daily Record reported an erosion control permit that allows grading for a new building was issued last week, as was a stormwater grading permit. Also, an Atlanta construction company that's the major contractor for the work at the site filed for a building permit for a non-occupied equipment building.

Apple, based in Cupertino, Calif., is building a private solar farm to help power its data center.

Maiden town manager Todd Herms says Apple's original plans called for two identical data centers. One has been built so far. Herms says he can't say if the company still plans to build the second one or is constructing something else.

Sure beats the sulfur smelting plant PCS has been trying to force down our throats. As for Apple's products, check their stocks. They are consistently doing pretty darn well even in this nutzo economy.

I don't buy Apple products because of the way Steve Jobs ran his business. He made great computers! But the message I got from him long ago, turned me away.

Does anyone know where Cherie Berry, the NC Commissioner of Labor is from? Maiden, NC. Is this a coincidence or just plain politics? Just asking...
