The remains of an Army National Guard member from a Winterville based unit returned to Wilmington Wednesday morning.
Several people gathered to greet the family of Sgt. T.J. Butler with a line of American flags at the airport. Butler was one of three members of the 514th military police company killed last Monday in Afghanistan.
Six men in uniform carried Butler's casket from the airport hangar to his family.
Butler's body was escorted to Andrews Mortuary in Wilmington . A visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with funeral services set for Friday.
