Two families whose homes were destroyed back in April by a tornado were given the keys to their new home on Friday afternoon. It's all thanks to the charity Samaritan's Purse.

The relief organization Samaritan's Purse has been in Bertie County helping victims since right after the disaster happened.

Six more homes are under construction and a new group of a dozen volunteers are arriving every week.

WITN captured the moment on video as seventy-two-year-old Pearl Clemons walked into her new home. Her face lit up as she saw the new kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom.

Clemons says she is extremely grateful and says she is pinching herself thinking this can't be real.

Clemons neighbor across the street also received a new home.

12 people were killed in the deadly tornado outbreak in Bertie County.
