The Department of Transportation says all lanes of Interstate 95 near Roanoke Rapids have reopened.
The Department of Transportation said a tractor trailer wreck has forced crews to close all southbound lanes of Interstate 95 heading South near Roanoke Rapids.
Officials said that tractor trailer was in an accident and subsequently caught fire.
All lanes are expected to re-open by noon on Wednesday.
Drivers should expect a detour if headed in that direction. The detour takes motorists to NC 46, then US 301, continuing onto US 158 to NC 903. Drivers can then access I-95 South at exit 168.
