Teen Found Dead After Crash

A South Carolina family looking for their missing teenage son has found his body in the woods in North Carolina after he died in a motorcycle crash.

The Gaston Gazette reports that 18-year-old Jacob Lance LaMarr was found Friday by his family who had last seen the young man five days earlier.

North Carolina Trooper J.J. Letcavage said the teen was killed when his motorcycle crashed into the woods in Gaston County. He had been wearing a helmet, but the impact of the crash tore it off. Letcavage thinks the accident happened July 25.

LaMarr lived with his family in Clover, S.C., on weekends but worked at a restaurant in Gastonia and stayed with friends in Charlotte while he was working.

The couple on I95 in NC was found by a DOT worker working on the road and not by the family.

I don't know if anyone else remembers, but there was an older couple from MB,SC that was traveling north through NC that disappeared a couple of years ago. They just seemingly vanished off of I-95. Except for an early morning report by a motorist who said they thought they saw a vehicle leave the roadway near Rocky Mount, there was no skid marks or evidence of a vehicle leaving the highway. A trooper rode through the area but didn't spot the top of the roof in an adjacent creek. The family checked out the motorists' report to the HP of the car leaving the roadway and found their family members' car. I guess its up to the family to investigate crashes if authorities are unable to locate a vehicle initially. In a way I can understand this, because of the costs and need of manpower when little or no evidence would suggest a crash off the road. Still, its a shame that it takes a family to find their loved ones when professionals would be better at it.

So why was it up to the parents to have to do the search for their son... the cops too busy texting their next victim?

Indeed so, yet at least they have his remains to begin the process of acceptance of his fate and avoiding the torment of not knowing what happened to him. My condolences.
