NC Democrats Hold State Convention In Fayetteville

North Carolina Democrats are gathering with weeks to go before this fall's elections.

The state's Democratic Party holds its convention in Fayetteville starting Saturday and 1,000 delegates are expected to attend. The convention is held every other year. New Bern held the last one in 2008.

The event is seen as a time for the party to prepare for November's state and federal elections, adopt policy positions and network with the party's influential members.

The convention's Saturday activities include training sessions on how to recruit volunteers, run telephone banks and reach out to women.

The party's fundraising dinner is Saturday night, followed by an executive committee meeting Sunday.

let's see, for 19 months you have a democrat president, a democrat house, a democrat senate.... why can't they get the boys back home ? Why can't they let the boys fight and win ? yeah, some things do stay the same huh. Keep the troops hands tied, they must retreat if any civilians are near, can't shoot until fired upon, ect. ect. ect.

I grew up in Fayetteville. We called it "Fedvull". It was the 1960's. Lots of 20 year old kids who would soon go to "Nam" to die for an utterly, and insanely useless cause.. kind of like Afghansistan today. The more things change the more they stay the same. Dumb wars; good kids gone; parents cry and Haliburton stock keeps going up.
