A former state lawmaker who resigned last year was arrested Tuesday night for DWI.
Cary Allred was stopped around 10:00 p.m. by Burlington police. Police say he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
Allred was an 8-term Republican state representative from Alamace County. He resigned last year amid allegations that he inappropriately touched a female page. Allred was also accused of drinking and speeding while on his way to Raleigh for a legislative session.
