SC Murder Suspect Leads 100-Mile NC Police Chase

Authorities say a man suspected of killing his wife in their South Carolina home and leading police on a 100-mile chase into North Carolina on Interstate 85 drank bleach before he was arrested.

Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright says 45-year-old Arthur Mims of Duncan is being guarded in a hospital but is expected to survive.

Authorities say Mims shot and killed 36-year-old Dawn Katrice Mims and wounded his 16-year-old stepdaughter around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. When the girl ran for help, Mims set the home on fire and sped off in his pickup.

Officers chased Mims on I-85 from Cherokee County to Davidson County, N.C. Police shut down all six lanes of the interstate south of Greensboro, N.C., for two hours until Mims surrendered.

It wasn't clear if Mims had an attorney.

wait where are all the police haters? shouldn't you be saying something negative about the police for chasing and apprehending this man. just saying, everyone always has something negative to say about the police but they are the ones who COULD NOT do the job!

He drank the bleach to kill the bacteria in his body. The bacteria are "evil spirits" that need to be washed from the body when it's possessed. He'll claim he was possessed and get a better sentence now that he's "clean".
