State Grant Money Aides Sheriff's Office

One sheriff's office in the east is adding some more manpower and equipment.

The Jones County Sheriff's Office received a $94,000 grant from the Governor's Highway Safety Fund to add another officer and for new equipment like cones, vests, flashlights, signage and a trailer needed to conduct checkpoints.

Sheriff John Hall says they are still in need of additional manpower so they plan to apply for another grant.

Sheriff Hall has done so much to change our Sheriffs Office for the good. Our ignorant commissioners have fought him tooth and nail every budget year! Thank God for state grants that will help us to get the protection that we deserve.
