NEW POLL: Road Money Distribution

A brand new poll from Public Policy Polling finds 55% of voters in North Carolina think their area does not get its fair share of road money, while 23% thinks their section does.

The figure for people in Eastern Carolina who think their area gets its rightful share of road money is 22%.

The polling group points out that people in North Carolina's bigger cities think Eastern Carolina gets too much money for roads.

A really what is the purpose of this poll? How about a poll asking what percent of taxed money is actually used to keep the roads maintained, verses, overhead and admin. cost.

Market St. and Market St. Ext. in Washington, remind me of the old cobble stone streets, great memories of a better time, why would anyone want to change that.

Even when we have the work done, it's a crappy job lately. They just repaved a road in Grifton, that is just as bad now as before. Almost shakes me out of the car and yet we spent all that money on repaving..why? There was no improvement at all that I can tell.

Since most of the roads are not made in a complete way (e.g. no sidewalks, no bike lanes) and thus force us into staying addicted to foreign oil and gas guzzling cars/trucks, I do not think that our funds are used in a positive way. Gas prices should be altered to include a user tax percentage instead of a flat rate. I'm tired of paying higher retail rates because we have to pay for for subsidizing huge parking lots for huge gas guzzlers for increasingly obese people.

Considering the state is so broke they cannot pay income tax refunds, guess meaning they have no money, I would say everyone that is getting no work done is getting their fair share.
