Diocese Of Raleigh Lifting H1N1 Precautions

The Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, which includes the east, is lifting temporary changes to made to mass, over concerns about the spread of the H1N1 virus.

The sign of peace, where parishioners shake hands with each other, and receiving holy communion from the cup, which parishioners also share, were suspended last September.

Bishop Michael Burbidge says current information from the Centers for Disease Control confirms the virus has significantly dissipated in our country and eastern Carolina, so he's ordered an end to those temporary precautions. effective March 28, but no later than April 18.

    I wonder just how many communicable, potentially deadly, sometimes incurable diseases have to be floating around for someone to get a clue that sharing a cup with several people regularly is a bad idea.
