Anti-War Activists To Hold Vigil Near N.C. Army Post

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- North Carolina's Quaker House will mark the seventh anniversary of the war in Iraq with a peace vigil near Fort Bragg.

The vigil on Saturday will be held at Fayetteville's Market Square.

Special recognition will be given to the more than 100 female service members killed.

Activists will also be protesting the war in Afghanistan. Quaker House has organized large protests on the anniversaries of the Iraq invasion since 2004.

Quaker House was founded in 1969. Since the Vietnam war it has been instrumental in organizing anti-war rallies and providing soldiers and other troops with information on getting out of the military.
