KITTY HAWK, N.C. -- Some North Carolina real estate agents are trying to bring out the buyers by pointing out reduced-price beach homes available after foreclosure.
Home sellers are organizing an Outer Banks home tour and buyers clinic on Saturday.
The tour is designed to help buyers and their agents understand how to buy property that's owned by a bank.
Blue Horizon Realty says about 40 percent of the homes sold on the Outer Banks in February were properties that were already foreclosed or had pressured owners willing to sell at a loss.
Outer Banks real estate sales in January and February were nearly 20 percent higher over last year and the total homes available dropped nearly 10 percent.
