Memorial For Fallen Marines & Sailors At Camp Lejeune

Marines and Sailors at Camp Lejeune who gave their lives for our freedom were honored Friday.

A memorial was held at Camp Lejeune for five Marines and one Sailor from the 2nd light armored reconnaissance battalion killed in Afghanistan last year. They were fighting in the Helmand Province.

Hundreds of friends and family members came to the ceremony to honor their loved ones. A 21-gun salute followed by taps concluded the program.

The deployment to southern Afghanistan was in support of NATO's international security assistance force.
