I am grateful for the care my family member has received at Chowan Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility. It's proof that great healthcare can improve the quality of one's life at any age! Hats off to the medical director and fine staff at this facility!

My son was admitted at Chowan --care by the physcians, nurse and entire staff was outstanding. For a small town how fortunate we are to have a high quality hospital and be part of UHS. We are blessed.

What a great list to be on! Congratulations to UHS. I am thankful that I live close to a healthcare facility such as Chowan Hospital. They have provided nothing but great care to me and my family.

Clem, what about those hospitals that didn't make the list at all? With all of the health care facilities that there are, even being in the 100th position is making a statement.

They purchased our hospital and since that time it is all about money...they remind me of the mafia..won't take this or that insurance, when an employee retires they have NO health benefits even after working for them for 30 years...what is wrong with this picture??? A health facility that treats it's employees like this.

I think if you read the article carefully you will see that the rating is for information technology and not for the medical part of University Health Systems. They are very well connected to other hospitals by technology. Either of the outlying hospitals can connect to Greenville.

Too bad the Health Care Reform legislation will destroy it.

clem.... number 100 is not bottom of the list! How many hospitals are there in the united states? honest... would you rather a hospital treat your family if they are not capable? University Health Systems is not just PCMH, but rather other hospitals, doctors offices, and treatment centers. What a great asset for Eastern North Carolina!
