More Americans Worried About Impact Of Health Care Reform

As the fate of health care overhaul hangs in doubt, a new poll suggests that Americans are increasingly concerned about how it would affect them.

One third of the people responding to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation poll said they thought their access to care would be worse if overhaul took place. That's a jump from 25 percent in the poll released a month ago. And the number who said their personal finances would be worse under health care reform was also higher.

Forty-two percent said the nation's finances would suffer under health care overhaul -- compared with about 35 percent who said so a month earlier.

People still generally thought that President Barack Obama should address the issue, as part of dealing with the nation's economic slump. But the percentage who said it's very important for him to do so slipped from 56 percent in September to less than 50 percent now.
