Christmas ATV Crash Kills Man In NC Mountains

Authorities say a man has died after his all-terrain vehicle overturned early Christmas morning on a road in the North Carolina mountains.
Troopers tell the Asheville Citizen-Times that the crash happened around 2 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say the victim, whose name has not been released, was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene.
Troopers say he had a bottle of homemade alcohol in his pocket and a 12-pack of beer was strewn across the road.

I feel bad for the family... but Im so sick of those stupid ATVs. They've torn up enough natural areas for ENOUGH years, and far too many people have died on them because they had a false sense of security for whatever reason that it was safer than another type of motor vehicle. Stop manufacturing them for anything other than agencies like forestry/rescue and law, I say.

I have to say, this is a sad story. I realize he shouldn't have been out at that hour, possibly drinking, with no helmet, but it is still a sad waste of a human being. I can only sympathize with his family.

My heart goes out to the family of this fellow. It is a devastating tragedy but it goes to show all of us how much alcohol plays a role in many deaths worldwide.

Alcoholics are very sick people and they need true help, and loving arms. God bless this family through their sorrows.
