Cunningham To Challenge Burr For NC Senate Seat

A former state senator says he will challenge North Carolina U.S. Sen. Richard Burr next year.

Cal Cunningham said in a statement Monday that he wants to fight against special interests in Washington. Cunningham is a Democrat and Army veteran who served in Iraq.

Cunningham had long been considering a run against Burr but said last month that he would not, saying it was "the wrong race at the wrong time for me and my family."

Burr is seeking a second term in the Senate in next year's elections.

Other Democratic challengers include North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and Durham attorney Kenneth Lewis.

PW,I'm not degrading anyone's military history, just his choice of which party he stands for. We don't need another Dumbobrat giving away America to those who sneak into our country, and those to sorry to work a job and contribute to America.Maybe you like working(if you do work that is)and seeing your tax dollars given away to the porch crowd that takes all the handouts they can get, all the while sitting on the porch that we taxpayers are paying the rent on.Or having to pay so that teachers teach a foreign language to American students instead of telling LEGAL immigrants that ENGLISH is the official language of the U.S.A.And also telling ILLEGAL immigrants to get the heck out and go back where you came from. No, the last thing we need is another America destroying Dumbobrat. Also, just because someone has military experience doesn't mean that they are good for America.Just look at how JFK started America on its downhill slide like a snowball rolling downhill headed for you know where.

PW, we repect the man for his service, not the party running the country. You and I cannot afford their spending or you are not opening you eyes. As a long standing democrat, this is now what our country needs right now. There are too many liberals "ruining" the show right now.

The Dems will have to run someone who has NO EXPERIENCE of elected office. They can't find one with experience who hasn't voted time after time to raise taxes and spending. We are FED UP with taxes and spending, not to mention encroachment on our freedoms.

Yeah, MrT, just like you neo-cons, talk the phony talk of supporting the military, while degrading this veteran that has served the US in Iraq. Burr has no miltary history. Chicken-hawks.

Just what we need, another good for nothing Dumbobrat. As if the too many we already have aren't doing a good enough job of destroying America.
