The drunk driving death of a teenager in the East has led to charges against the store clerk who sold the teen alcohol, lawmen say.
Nineteen-year-old Cody Herman crashed into two trees in early November. Herman died after the crash in Gates County. Now state Alcohol Law Enforcement Agents have charged Joyce Parker for selling malt beverages to an underage person. Lawmen say Herman bought a significant amount of alcohol at the Family Foods of Sunbury, and then drank the alcohol at two house parties before his crash.
Herman's parents have requested that their son's mangled car be placed at Gates County High School for the holiday season so other teens can see the dangers of drinking.
