Too many cooks in the Thanksgiving kitchen may result in a Black Friday call to the plumber.
The day after Thanksgiving isn't just a big shopping day, it's considered the busiest day of the year for many plumbing companies.
Mark Wissler at Dallas Plumbing Company says some people call on Thanksgiving, but most of the emergency calls come on the day after.
His worst experience he calls "the brisket incident," when a guy stuffed an entire brisket down the garbage disposal. He spent a couple of hours pulling chunks of meat out of the drain line.
Wissler says celery is stringy and potato peels and carrot peels are flat, so they bypass the crushing plate of the garbage disposal and will easily stop up the drain line.
Another problem plumbers have to deal with is grease from the turkey or ham. Once it cools off, the grease becomes solid and blocks up a garbage disposal.
Wissler and plumbers around the country are on call on Thanksgiving -- just in case.
