Governor Beverly Perdue To Survey Coastal Damage

Governor Perdue is headed to the coast to see the damage from last weeks storm for herself.

Governor Perdue declared a state of emergency in Dare County Monday. That's the first step to getting more money to the hardest hit areas to help clean up. Officials say Highway 12 is in rough shape after the storm, and parts of it were washed out.

Perdue will meet with both emergency management and transportation officials Tuesday.

Another opportunity for her to make promises she cannot keep. I truely believe a band of mentally challenged gorillas could do a better job than our leaders in Raleigh. I apologize to the gorillas

If you read the story, you would see it is for the highway to be repaired not the houses. Contrary to popular belief, we are not all rich out here.

Yes, it's a waste of time and money but pols always have to look as if they are really concerned even though it will not make one bit of difference should she go or not. Either way there will be many people questioning why. Very wealthy people own most of the damaged property here, which is by far vacation/income property, so I'm sure the taxpayers will pick up the tab for most of the damages and the restoration efforts to keep this a viable income source for the owners.

I am tired of this Governor and other former Governors using the NC treasury as their personal checking account. She needs to stay in Raleigh and do your job as the people not her want it to be done.

I dont even see why she is wasting the gas an the effort to go an view the damages as that she is going to do what the governor from manteo says to do in the first place. she isn't even the real governor fothis state she is just a political puppet for the real governor to pull her strings . an if she even for a mintue thinks that she is indeed the governor of this state she had best think again thank you
