New Swine Flu Numbers

We have new numbers this morning on the prevalence of the swine flu in North Carolina, and how sick it's making people.

Five people in North Carolina died from the flu last week, bringing the total of flu deaths here to 32 over the last month. The State Health Department data shows the overwhelming majority of flu tests are coming back positive for the swine flu. The cases of the flu started to spike in North Carolina around the first of September, and appear to have stabilized at their peak level around mid-October.

Im old enough to remember the first big deal about Swine Flu... I was in gradeschool. A friend of mine almost died from THAT vaccination. I don't do flu shots, & don't approve of it in mass distribution. For my & yr old grandmother w/ COPD, I can see the point. I used to have far more health issues when I let my Drs think they knew best for me but now I take responsibility for my own education, & exercise my intellect. Eat right, stay as natural as you can, wash your hands, & flee from those nasty ppl who cough & slobber up & down grocery aisles without so much as some Purell on hand. Yes, Im a bit germaphobic but it keeps me healthier being cautious. I've never had a flu shot in my life & Im still alive - and no I dont have a phenomenal immune system.. that's why I run away from careless sick people. I just wonder how bad the mutated virus will be next year.. after all these shots.

Im sick of hearing about the swine flu.Its all pretty simple.Wash yore hands, and stay home if infected. That also includes everybody else in youre household.I know the thought of spending a couple of days with youre family is just awfull.Agin use some common sense.

To Anonymous @ 10:49.....I am skeptical myself on the vaccination, but you probably will never get the hard facts you are looking for. As a parent I believe that I will make the best possible choice for my children no matter what so go with that. It seems to be a double edged sword with all the crap you hear about the vaccination causing death and all that good stuff. The only thing I can say is that I had a pharmacist and doctor tell me that the vaccination was safe. It is up to me and everyone else on what they believe. Just do your best!

I am just curious of these 30 something deaths..how many were very young children? How many were elderly? I can't make up my mind as to wether the swine flu vaccines are a scam but can we get the hard facts and more detailed statistics?

I agree with Anon. @7:41. I believe there is a 6000000 to 1 chance of dying from H1N1, so just keep washing your hands everyone, avoid touching your face (especially mouth, nose and eyes).

Give us more numbers. In NC how many people died of MRSA, septis, cancer, COPD, abuse, auto accidents, and at the hands of another person, during the same time period, so we can put things in prespective.
