Woman Accused Of Abusing Children

A North Carolina woman is accused by authorities of severely abusing two of her three children, including refusing to feed her mentally handicapped 12-year-old daughter.

The Fayetteville Observer reported Wednesday that the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office said 32-year-old Tamika Sawyer chained her refrigerator and refused to feed her daughter and a 10-year-old son.

Warrants say Sawyer punished the two by choking them, causing her daughter to pass out. Investigators say the children told them they were also threatened with a shotgun.

Sawyer faces charges that include four counts of misdemeanor assault on a child under 12, four counts of misdemeanor child abuse and two counts of misdemeanor assault by pointing a gun.

To GS - Um, honey, she just got arrested. She is not a celebrity. What were you expecting Halle Barry? The woman looks pretty upset too. You people say the dumbest things.

People quit knocking this lady. She is a good fit mother who sounds like she has some mental issues.

To SassyMom- I am not judging as I DO NOT KNOW HER and NEITHER DO YOU. You have read an article. Now you think you know her and exactly what to do with her. You need to check your definition on 'opinion', they are flat out judgements. All I am saying is, hope you don't end up (well, you will ultimately) in trouble and the press writes some things that MIGHT not be exactly correct. Obviously something is wrong. Obviously, she needs to be dealt with. The children have been abused but some kids (most) would be devasted to be taken away from even the worst mother. I hope all turns out for the best. Oh, that is how I 'feel' and my 'opinion'. Smiles honey.

Anonymous- As I appreciate your efforts in making this a positive situation, I believe those kids laid in bed at night hungry and beaten wishing lightning would strike their Mother. I mean I think I would. Sorry!
