Inmate Remorseful For Trooper's Murder

The woman convicted of killing a Highway Patrol trooper in the East nearly 35 year ago will be released from prison next Thursday. Nineteen others convicted of violent crimes will be released as well, because of a one time law that defined life in prison as 80 years.

Trooper Tom Davis was shot dead in Williamston in 1975. Davis had stopped a car for running a red light, not knowing that the three people inside had just robbed a bank. The husband and father of two, was shot in the face.

Faye Brown was sentenced to life for her role in the crime. Now 56 years old, Brown has been out of prison during the daytime on work release, employed at a Raleigh company, according to WNCN. Her boss says Brown has turned her life around and is remorseful for the murder of the trooper. Brown will be on federal parole when she's released, because of her involvement in a bank robbery.

To anon, you are so right about what you are saying. I am against her or any other fool getting out of prison for murder. I guess for me I think back on the years in eastern NC when blacks were killed and hanged for no reason. I wish people thought about murder then like they do now. It is very sad for something like this to happen. Can you imagine sending your child to the store to get a box of bread and they never return home and a day later they are floating in the Roanoke River or hung from a tree just because the color of their skin?

hate what was done, if you read the full version, she had a pistol in her purse when she entered the bank, this was staged and talked about the night before at a night club....of course no one was suppose to get hurt, but did you think that that trooper was going to not abide by the law and let them keep going...i think not....just should have turned themselves in, but she yelled in the back shoot that ---- and he did with a sawed off shot gun which penetrated his whole body....adults have to take responsibility for the crime they committe and for the time they spent talking about it. somebody was bound to die.,

to DM, she was in the car when they robbed the bank, she was there when he pulled the trigger and shot the trooper who was dead before he hit the ground. and she stated that if she knew what she knew now she would have never said she was in the car day. she is just as guilty as if she pulled the trigger. no she did not tell anyone voluntary.she had the right NOT TO BREAK THE LAW.so the trooper was shot over nothing!! def:MURDER the unlawfull killing of a human being by another human being.HOMICIDE the killing of a human being by another human being. JUSTIFIED HOMICIDE an act of self defense in killing a human being by another human being to protect their life.AID AND ABET-knowingly and willingly help someone commit a crime before, during or after the fact carries the same punishment as if they committed the crime theirself! so according to the definitions,no one should be getting out.they should have done their good behavior before this robbery and murders and rapes and kidnappings!!say?

This is very sad. I have to say that I often think about all of the People in Martin County that were killed for no reason and hanged. Has anyone ever thought about those families. There are older people that were part of murders in Martin County that we walk right past each day. People who murder people for nothing should never get out of prison. My question is; did she kill him? If she didnt she should have told on the one who did it.

I failed to add in my 7:38 PM message that some of the Work Release inmates are murderers, rapist, and child molesters.

My husband is a deputy and I can tell you no amount of remorse would bring closure if someone took my husband and the father of my 2 children. May she rot!

Just think how sad Christmas', graduations, and other day to day joys where without their Dad and the pain his wife felt. The granchildren who will never know their Grandfather. No amout of remorse can beat that.
