NC Lottery: New Scratch Off Ticket Debuts

North Carolina Education Lottery players have to pony up more if they want the chance to win a part of the lottery's largest payout ever for an instant scratch-off game.

The lottery's first $20 scratch-off ticket was expected in stores Tuesday for what's called the $200 Million Extravaganza game. There are more than 1.4 million prizes available, with five top prizes of $3 million, ten of $1 million and more than 12,000 prizes between $1,000 and $100,000. The million-dollar prizes will be paid in 20-year installments.

The lottery says the overall odds of winning of 1 in 2.65 are also the best for an instant ticket since first being sold in 2006.

The whole lottery thing still blows my mind.Kids starving people hurting. No money to look for work or get to work.this is just another false hope made up by the rich to keep the poor down.Indeed people should be more Competent and make better educated decisions but they aren't.The fat cats up at top love to see you throw you money away. How about you give that 20 dollars to i can Have enough gas to make it to work to help feed my family.Give it to a local food bank.quit wasting your money.I hate capitalism.

if you can't afford your bills, why on earth would somebody pay $20 for a stupid lottery ticket when the odds are against you anyway, but it happens everyday. I am no fan of the lottery.
